How long have you been DJing?

We started Custom Sound in 1998 and have been rocking events ever since! All of our DJs have a minimum of 10 years of experience, so you can trust that your event is in expert hands.

What type of equipment do you use?

We only use top-of-the-line, professional DJ and audio equipment from the top names in the industry. All of our systems include an on-site backup — just in case.

What types of events are your specialty?

All of our DJs specialize in weddings and are experienced with every type of wedding celebration. That said, we bring the same energy and professionalism to every event we perform at — from corporate parties to sweet 16s.

Will our DJ take requests?

Accepted Answer

We will always ask you for a list of must-play songs before your event. At the event itself, we only take guest requests if you allow it. If you do, our DJs "filter" requests — meaning they will never play a song or genre you specifically asked them to avoid. If a request fits naturally with what the DJ is playing and aligns with your preferences, they will do their best to work it in.

Can we provide our own music for the DJ to play?

Absolutely! We just ask that you send us the music files in advance of the event so we can prepare. If you go this route, please keep your audience in mind when selecting tracks.

Question 6

When should we book a DJ?

Accepted Answer

For weddings, we recommend booking at least 12 to 18 months in advance. This gives us plenty of time to consult with you and make sure every detail of your day is perfect. That said, we do have DJs available for last-minute events as well — just reach out and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Question 7

What are your payment terms?

Accepted Answer

A retainer fee is required at the time of booking when the contract is signed. The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to your event date. Payments can be made through our online planning system using a debit or credit card, by check at our office, or by mail.

Question 8

Will the DJ play overtime if needed?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our DJs are happy to play past the contracted end time if the party is still going. Each DJ is able to accept overtime payments directly. Just let them know at the event and they will keep the music going.

How involved are you in helping plan our event?

Accepted Answer

As involved as you want us to be! Every DJ package includes a complimentary consultation. We can help you plan your wedding or event from start to finish — from the processional song to the last dance — or simply show up and execute your vision. It is entirely up to you.

What other services do you offer?

Accepted Answer
